Formed in late 2017, The Honky Tonk Zeros are a rag tag collection of night owls banded together for the common cause of late night rock and roll marathons. The foundation of the group is based around the songwriting duo of Jessica Burke and Joshua Gladston, who have spent the past 10 years playing and singing country and western songs together around eastern Canada, with occasional busking tours through Europe. Currently residing in Toronto, Burke and Gladston and are backed by a band consisting of the psychedelic sounds of Brodie Stevenson’s harmonica, the steady thump of Will Pettigrew’s bass, and the compact, eclectic drumming of Jordan Wilding.
Drawing from a wide range of influences from Ray Price to Sturgill Simpson, Emmy-Lou Harris to Margo Price, The Staple Singers to Raphael Saadiq (to name a few), the band strives to tap into the cosmic crossroads of country, soul, and rock and roll with a hearty of mix of originals, standards, and lesser known classics with their signature four part vocals and unpredictable improvisatory adventures. Cutting their teeth in Bloor Street bar rooms, the Honky Tonk Zeros are looking to get you thinking, get you drinking, and most of all dancing at your favourite local watering hole or concert hall. Keep your ears and minds open friends!
